to keep in mind
Health Rules
1. MINIMUM HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATING DOGS:
Dogs from Italy must be registered with the relevant regional dog registry and identified by microchip.
They must be accompanied by a health booklet clearly showing the dog’s details, microchip, owner’s name, and vaccinations given with their dates.
Dogs from abroad must have a European pet passport. Dogs from outside the EU must also have a certificate showing a valid rabies vaccination, as well as a rabies antibody titer test for dogs coming from Third Countries.
2. EXPLICIT BAN ON PARTICIPATION:
Puppies under four months of age and dogs with behavioral problems that are potentially dangerous to the public and other dogs may not take part in the event.
3. CARE OF ANIMALS:
Dogs not competing must be kept in their carriers in the dedicated area of the washing room. A space will be available within the event where participants, under their own responsibility, can leave their dogs in their carriers.
Alternatively, the owner will look after the dog on a leash.
If dogs are not in their carriers, they may move around the halls on a leash.
During competitions, demonstrations and washing, dogs will be secured with a leash to the grooming arm of the table and supervised by the participating groomers.
Dogs will never be allowed to roam free without a leash. Owners/handlers must bring a muzzle to be used only if needed. During competitions and demonstrations, halfway through, about one hour after the start, dogs will be taken down from the tables to drink, stretch their legs and relax.
Several water points will be available inside the PalaEventi.

Rules to follow
In accordance with the Bologna USL (local health authority) regulations, if you bring a dog that is not yet registered, you can register it on arrival. Remember that dogs must be identified by microchip and, if from Italy, duly registered with the relevant regional dog registry.
They must be accompanied by a health booklet clearly showing the dog’s details, microchip, owner’s name, and vaccinations given with their dates.
Dogs from abroad must have: a European pet passport if coming from other Member States, or a health certificate (written at least in English or Italian). Dogs from outside the EU must show certification of a valid rabies vaccination, as well as a rabies antibody titer test. This applies to dogs from Third Countries in the cases provided for by current EU regulations (EU Regulations 576 and 577 of 2013).
Keep in mind..
Dogs under 4 months of age may not be brought to the event. Puppies over 4 months must have been vaccinated against Parvovirus and Distemper at least twice, and the second vaccination must have been given at least 30 days before the event.
Under the Bologna AUSL regulations, to access the event, dogs that are not taking part in activities must be kept on a non-extendable leash no longer than 1.5 m, and owners/handlers must carry a muzzle to be used if needed. Alternatively, they may be kept in cages or kennels large enough for the dog to stand with its head fully raised and to lie down and turn around comfortably. A relaxation room will be set up where dogs can rest in their cages.
